I have a 14 month old filly that had an unknown injury 4 months ago to her r/f shoulder/elbow area causing infection to the facia in the shoulder and requiring arthroscopic surgery to prevent damage to her elbow joint. The elbow has recovered to about 75% but she developed a club foot and contracted tendons from resting her leg. Any advice or experience would be appreciated. PT/ walking to insure use/ trimming hoof. she is currently on a small does of bute, surpass, msm and adequan.

Hello JAB,
The article associated with this forum has many recommendations for the treatment of acquired flexor contracture do you have questions about their applicability to your case? You should consider rapidly escalating the aggressiveness of your therapy if you do not see results and along with techniques to get the heels down consider the nutrition limiting steps outlined in the article. The longer this remains the harder it becomes to treat.
