My 18 months old Quarter Horse filly managed to shear off a large spot the hair on her forehead. It looked like someone had taken a razor and shaved her. There wasn’t any blood, but it took several months for the hair to grown in. There is still a small ridge across her forehead but it’s getting smaller each day. It took me a while to get her over the head shyness. Now some days she fights me to even touch her anywhere on her head and others she is just fine. I was wondering if she could have a headache, or some other residual affect from the accident. Does anyone have any ideas? Her behavior never changed. My Vet looked at the injury and told me to just keep it clean and apply a topical ointment.

I assume they do Judith and some mild ones are probably subclinical. When they become significant enough to see I suspect depression and when severe head pressing are the chief clinical signs.
