My two year old QH mare has two blue eyes and seems to always have more tearing and eye related irritation then my TB that has brown eyes. This morning I noticed that she had some swelling, redness, excessive tearing and discomfort in her left eye. I irrigated the eye with saline water. My vet gave me some antibiotic cream and Bute to use and said that if wasn't better in a couple of days to let him know. If blue eyes are more likely to develop irritation, or other eye diseases, is there anything I can do thru care or supplements to help prevent onset of further problems.

Yes, blue eyed hoses usually have less pigment in the periocular structures and therefore more sensitive to sunlight. First is to be sure there is not another reason. Next the article associated with this forum gives concrete recommendations for this problem.
