I'm wondering if it really has the same effect as Ulcerguard.

U-Gard 2X

U-Gard was the choice of the Horse Journal (March 2005) for non prescription ulcer treatments based on results and price. A fine, highly palatable powder that contains veterinary strength antacids to soothe and coat the gastrointestinal tract, but in a super concentrated formula. Great for initial treatment and safe enough for everyday prevention and maintenance. 4 lbs.

Ingredients:
Calcium Carbonate, Magnesium Silicate, Methylcellulose, Siclicon Dioxide, Kaolin and Pectin.

Evidently they did a field test, but it doesn't list the actual results:

Have you heard of this Dr. O?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

These are the common ingredients found in all antacids in combination with kaopectate. Information on the efficacy of the antacids is in the article on ulcers but I don't know any work to suggest kaopectate is efficacious in the treatment or prevention of ulcers.
