Dr. O, I brush my horses every day. Today I noticed bot fly eggs on Cody's sides and legs and fronts. I can't believe I would have not noticed them, and that they are left over from the fall, but maybe they are. It has been warm here for 2 days, would these be new eggs. I am planning on worming them for their normal 8 week rotation with Zimecterine Gold. It just seems weird to see them in the dead of winter.
thanks
sue

You don't give your state Susan in your profile, however our weather in NC has been so warm the past week I had small insects buzzing my outdoor lights as I came in tonight.

Unlikely to be fresh eggs then, but your regular deworming will take care of this. You can also remove the eggs by a number of methods as the article describes.
