Good morning Dr. O. I would like to know if you have ever heard of salmonella being called equine leukocyte receptor expression? I heard this from a friend of a client and quite frankly I was surprised by the term. This individual has a nice filly that she said has salmonella and then said it had been called ELRE. I am wondering if I missed this somewhere along the way or if this is something new, I need to brush up on for the future. I would appreciate any information you might have. Thanks. Dr. Woodworth

Hello DrW
Huuhhhhhh? It doen't really make sense, either something is being left out or one of the words are wrong. There have been cases of chronic colitis secondary to both congenital and acquired immune deficiencies and it sounds like this is what is being discussed but I cannot make sense of it either.
