My 12 year old TB was loosing weight for no reason. Had rough, dry hair that wouldn't shed. Vet exam and blood test showed high thyroid level and low blood sugar. All he said was to give him an iodized salt lick. In 2 months my horse has not touched the salt lick. I've changed his nutritionals with good hair results but no weight gain. I'm mostly curious to what maybe underlying with this high thyroid. Any comments are greatly appreciated, thanks.
