My fifteen-month-old (Apploosa/half-Arabian) colt's testicles haven't descended. Since everything I've read says they needed to descend by about the tenth day, I'm thinking they're ruined by now. So I guess he's going to be a gelding after all. The question is, what do I do now? Do I need to have him gelded still? How is this done - I'm sure it's much more involved than it would have been with the usual intact colt. Sedation? Surgery? Lots o' money? Dang it. He would've made pretty babies! |

I would definitely pay to get the surgery done if you plan on keeping him. nothing is worse than a proud cut gelding. |

Thanks Dr. O. Another great article from this site. I thought I'd looked everywhere for it - but not THERE! I guess I'll be callin' the vet out! |
