Use

Muscle relaxer to aid in the treatment of muscle spasms from strain, soreness, tetanus, and in some cases tying up. Some indication it may potentiate the effects of pain relievers like bute or banamine.

The method of action of methocarbamol is unknown. It does not appear to work on the muscles directly but through a central nervous system mechanism.

At the commonly used lower doses of 5 grams per 1000lbs twice a day orally therapeutic levels are questionable but may be helpful with mild problems. There is no clear research in this area.
