Dr. O.
Can you tell me if a horse is supposed to get 4.5 ccs of Pergolide, what amount would that be in the pill form as far as mgs.? Thanks for any help.

A related question -
with liquids is 1 cc the same as 1 ml?

Hi Sandra,
Thought I'd posted this but apparently it didn't go through. A pharmacist at Walreens drug store just this morning confirmed that lcc is the same as 1 ml, but we'll verify that when Dr. O. answers the question. Shirley

Hello Shirley,
There is not enough information to answer your question. We also need to know the concentration of the pergolide in the liquid in order to know
what the dosage would be:

concentration (mg/ml) X volume (ml) = dose (mg)

I believe pergolide can now be gotten in different strength pills, though 1 mg per pill use to be standard. So to figure an equivalent dosage we would need to know the strength of the pill you refer to. Recommended dosages amounts are in the article on Cushing Diseases.
