Has anyone ever used the herbal supplement "Moody Mare" and if so, what are your comments?

I personally have not but know a half a dozen friends that are on show circuit year around that rave about it. I think it like many herbal supplements is prone to work on some horses and not others and then i always wonder if a resistence will build, but according to my friends its the reason they still have their moody mares on the show circuit.

I haven't used "Moody Mare", but have had TERRIFIC success with their (Wendals) product "Stop Itch". I have a filly who would scratch herself senseless every summer & the vet couldn't find what the problem was. Had him read the "Stop Itch" ingredients & he gave me his blessing to give it a try - said at the very least it couldn't hurt. So, the last 2 summers I gave her "Stop Itch", & the scratching stopped. As a test, this past summer I stopped using it for a couple of weeks & the itchiness came right back. Started it up again & voila - a happy horse.

Our local tack shop always has an after-Xmas sale where everything is 30% off, so I usually pick up 2-3 tubs then & save them for the summer.

I see the original post is an older date but had to put my 2 cents in in case anyone searches for Moody Mare advice. I have used Moody Mare from United Equine on my 12 yo Thoroughbred Mare for over one month now. I gradually worked her up the the recommended 3 scoops a day and it is wonderful! I definately recommend it. She was in heat for the 2nd time last week and was so good about it, better than the last time. She would squeal at all the geldings and try to kick through the fence at them but now is really mellow and very tolerable. She would get so whipped up at game shows that she would get me absolutely frazzled! We went to one this past Thursday night and she was very tolerable. Every once and a while she would remind me she was in heat but it was 80% better than normal! I know other people (where I heard about it) who have had equal success. It's worth the buy especially if you need your mare to perform}!
