Dr O,
Are there any contraindications for the normal use of Flunixin on pregnant mares?
Could a normal treatment with Flunixin (1 mgr/kgr,once daily for three days) create pregnancy problems?
A friend of mine got me worried, though I have not seen any printed contraindications.

I have not experienced any problems but there are no specific clinical studies on pregnant mares. Although reports of teratogenicity, effects on breeding performance, or gestation length have not been noted, flunixin should be used cautiously in pregnant animals.

Thanks, doctor,
I use all drugs carefully on all animals. She only had two 0,5mg/kgr shots, finally, to help reduce pain and swelling on a kick she got on her left elbow.
She's OK now, no heat, no lameness and it reduces fast.
