I have read the article o glucosamine. The article suggests a minimum of2 mg of GL and 1 mg of CS per lb of body weight.
The product I am looking at contains 1800mg of GL, am I right in converting this to 180 grams?
CS is 600mg so would be 60 grams.

This product also lists Pyridoxine Hydrochloride.
What is this ingredient for?

Thank you

Hello Lori,
1000 mg = 1 gm
So 1800 mg equals 1.8 gm.
Pyridoxine is a B vitamin and I do not know why this would be included in a foot supplement.

Slip of the tongue, or fingers I should say. Neither am I aware of any usefulness as a joint supplement.

Thank you, now that you mention that pyridoxine is a B vitamin, I remember that my Dr. perscribed the same for me for numbness in my hands which he thought was nerve related.
I must say there has been improvement.
Concerning the glucosamine, the product is a tad low but I could feed 1 1/2 scoops.

Lori, you were suffering from a B vitamin deficiency? That is fairly uncommon but it is notable that horses don't require B vitamins in the diet, it is believed they get the minimum amounts required for health from the bacteria in the large bowel. However we do believe food supplementation may maximize the health benefits and so most prepared concentrates and all fresh forages provide supplemental amounts.
