Dr. O,

My veterinarian doesn't seem to think that fecals are necessary. Since my horses have been on ivermectin only for the past 14 and 6 years respectively, is there a laboratory that I can mail fecals to?

Hello Leilani,
Your state veterinary diagnostic lab probably will run fecals but it may be simpler to ask your (or some other) small animal veterinarian to run them for you. The procedure is the same in a horse as a dog. I find it hard to believe that if you insist he won't do this service for you. How have you been attending to tapeworms?

Thank you Dr O. I'll ask my vet again. I can always contact my small animal vets and see if they can help. Good idea by the way.

Yes, I use praziquantal 2x a year. Thank you. Leilani

You can send them in here. I haven't tried it but it looks convenient.
