Has anyone used bee pollen? If so, what brand has worked best for you? Thanks!

Hi Cindy,
Yes, I have just started using a combination of bee pollen and vitamin C powder mixed in equal portions to my mare with heaves. She has been on this for 3 weeks now and I have noticed a decrease in the amount of coughing she is doing. She is a big Percheron and had heaves when I got her 4 years ago. She is 10 now. This seems to be the best combination I have found for her yet -- I also try many of the natural remedies if possible. She gets 1/2 ounce of the mixture 2x/day mixed in with her grain. She has no problem eating it (or anything else for that matter!) I get my supply from a company called AmeriHerb, Inc. -- http://www.ameriherb.com/ -- They offer many types of herbs and spices at VERY reasonable prices. I also give this same mare a 1/2 ounce dose of spirulina powder 1x/day in her morning feed. I'm still waiting before I make my final judgement on this combination, but I like what I have seen so far. I also use a combination of spirulina powder and garlic powder (mixed in equal portions) to my horses that seem to have springtime allergies. I live in Michigan so I start this in April for them and this year I have seen less hives and swollen glands. I feed this at a dose of 1/2 ounce of the mixture in their morning feed. The spirulina makes their noses/lips/tongue green but it only temporary until their first drink of water. Hope this helps!
