My ferrier has advised me to use Flamazine on my horse's hooves. The frogs are very soft (down to the soft tissue) Apparently you need a prescription for this. Can I get this anywhere without a prescription? He said Coppertox isn't enough. I live in BC, Canada

Hello Sylvia,
I am not familiar with Flamazine. Do you know what the active ingredient is?

Running a Google search on Flamazine.

You will probably need a prescription from your vet Sylvia.

Thanks Susan,
The active ingredient, silver sulphadiazine (sp?), has been used for both canker and white line disease. In both cases I have other preferences but this may be effective. I have not seen a over the counter product but am uncertain that it is not available as such.
