I have three two year old fillies and recently a young two year old stallion got in with them. One was in heat and she appears to have settled. It is now about 40 days past the time when she was bred. Lutlyse has been suggested to abort. How much? What is the side affects for future breeding? Bert

Check with your vet. Lutalyse shouldn't affect subsequent breedings.

If you are going to do it, do it now. Don't wait. A couple of years ago, we bought a mare to breed, but she wouldn't come into heat. I gave her 2 prostin (Lutalyse) shots to bring her in. Turned out - she was 2 1/2 months pregnant. She ended up giving birth to a - really ugly - but healthy filly!!

I assume from my own experience that it will not affect pregnancies once they are past a certain point!!
