I have a breeding question. Last year I gave my mare an injection of HCG to induce ovulation in order to AI her. Since giving this mare the HCG injection she has never cycled again. She shows only small CL's. As of now she has not cycled yet this Spring. This is also a maiden mare who cycled like clock work prior to the HCG. Any ideas in bringing this mare around again.

If no abnormality is found on palapation, ultrasound and uterine cytology (they need to be done in that order), I would recommend a 14 day course of Regumate. I do not think the HCG was responsible for the discontinued cycling.

I agree DrO! It is still early in the season...don't give up hope if she is not cycling yet. I am in Texas and some of my mares - still - are not cycling yet!!
