Has anyone heard about people using Redilyn (ms)in sedating horses for sale barns? The drug they use in ADD kids. I was told it makes them calm for 30 days and the "good ol boys" are using it on crazy horses to get them sold as gentle broke horses.

I would think it would be a very expensive way of sedating them when there is cheaper stuff. Not only that it only stays in the blood 4-6 hours so would be impossible to work for 30 days unless they gave it twice a day everyday like they do for people.
They do have a longer lasting form of ritalin called concerta that is given once a day but that wears of in 8 hours making most people extremily cranky and irritable. scary the thought of a horse on this. Its powerful stuff.

I've heard rumors of it being used to "calm" horses at shows. No real personal observations.
