My 21 yr old Arabian Gelding has been diagnosed with Desmitis in his front left leg...because of this I'm hesitant to lunge him. My vet has given me a topical of DMSO/Cortisone...my concern with this application is the connection to Cortisone and Cushings Disease. Instead, I just apply "Mineral Ice" and do a standing bandage. I ride him at a walk on trail and canter him on a right lead so it's less stress on his left leg. Any other suggestions? Thank you!
