We have a 17 year old quarter horse mare that has had successfully 7 foals in succession. We elected to leave her open last year so that we could get an early start this year. Each of her 7 foals have been the result of a live cover. This year we bred her by AI. Our vet bred her two days ago and she looked really good. On checking her today to ensure she had ovulated (she had) she noticed that there was some fluid. She decided to flush her and clean her out and as well gave her a shot of oxytosen. I am to give her 4 more shots over the course of today.

My question is has anyone else had any experience with this process and what is the possibility a pregnancy can still be successful after all this??? We are going to recheck her again tomorrow morning to see if she has expelled any remaining fluid and tighted up inside.

Any feedback experiences would be appreciated.
