Our mare is going on seven months pregnant.
Tonight, in the other side of the barn where the studs are located, when we walked her through she caused quite a stir and she shifted her tail and sort of squirted. I am also seeing rubbing tail sign today.
Any words of encouragement here?
Does this mean she is not pregnant?
Thanks

I would not let one episode of urination concern me but if she is acting like she normally does when she is in heat I would be concerned. If you cannot tell if she is pregnant visually it will take a rectal to confirm it one way or the other. For more on pregnancy diagnosis see Equine Reproduction » Horse Breeding & Artificial Insemination » Pregnancy Diagnosis.

Hi Jill, only a vet will be able to tell you for sure if your mare is bred, but there was a mare where I worked who seemingly came into heat every mo. until she foaled. She squirted and winked for the geldings (especially new ones). Was strange but true

Well, not quite: in about 4 months, the mare will let you know for certain one way or the other, vet or no vet.

All my girls look pretty pregnant by 7 months along. If this one isn't showing, I'd either wait for time to answer the question or call the vet, depending on the circumstances.
