I have recently acquired an older bred PMU mare. She's over 15, probably close to 20 (percheron/TB), and obviously very used to foaling. However, she hasn't had any immunizations in the past and she's due in 5-6 weeks. I have wormed her without a problem (ivermectin first, followed 2 weeks later by a panacur power pack). Her body condition is probably a 6 or 7 -- slightly hard to tell because her belly is so large it pulls down over her back -- I can see her backbone. She had been in a stable herd and I transported her, so I know she wasn't exposed to much enroute. We've had her for 3 weeks.

My questions is, should I give immunizations now and what can I safely give her without her system freaking out? Is there an increased risk since she hasn't had them before?

She should receive them now Connie as they will help protect the foal also. She may even need a primary series for tetanus, encephalitis, flu and rhino. For more on what this means see Care for Horses » Vaccines & Coggin's Test » Vaccines an Overview. Follow the link to the schedules for specific recommendations for pregnant mares.
