Dr. O... has there been a study of the gestation of mares following the same pattern as their mothers.. ? I have a maiden mare... she moved along rather quickly in the beginning, getting size and udder development.. .. went off her feed more or less in the 10 month... but snacked often.. Now at 334 she seems to have come to a screeching halt... no real change in the udders, teats are popped out / ** but i can't express fluid from them ** , her belly has dropped , she is softening on her hind end.. Her mother went 364 days two years in a row... what are the odds she will follow suit.. ??? Is it not uncommon to not be able to express fluid out of her teats at this point .. ??

Just tired of watching her at night... and getting grumpy...

On the first day God created horses, on the second day he painted them with spots....

I don't know of any work that correlates the 2. If her teats have "popped" there should be fluid there, some mares are just difficult to express.
