Can somebody who has used the "hand method" referred to in this article clarify what the glans penis and distal glans are, so I know where the left and right hand go? And is it worth it to invest instead in an AV and pay $10 each for a collection bag. Thank you. Wayne |

Hello K. Wayne, I always have used an AV so cannot personaly speak for the hand method. The glans is the head of the penis. Distal in anatomical terms always means away from the body or origin, so the distal glans would be the tip of the penis. DrO |

I would like to have one of my stallions trained for ground collection. He was injured in a training accident and had to have surgery on his stifle joint. He can mount no problem, but if his weight gets over onto that leg, he cannot support himself and drops off of the dummy or the mare, unless there are several handlers there to push on his side and hold him up. He is not an old stallion and would have many years of breeding if he could be trained like this. I would like to get him trained so that he will not be reinjured or fall on someone handling him. chris www.canyonrimranch.net |
