Posted on Monday, Sep 19, 2005 - 8:49 am: Here we have a twofer, both a member and a professional comment and both complimentary! We measure the success of this site not only in healthier horses but also the big savings on taking care of your horses. Throw in the entertainment value and the peace of mind we try to create for our members and you see what really separates us from other sites. Sites that have never seen a unnecessary supplement or a experimental treatment not worth spending your money on.Posted by Heidim on Sunday, September 18, 2005: Along the same line, I can't tell you how much my investment in this Web site has paid off financially. We've run concerns by you first (except for emergency situations, that is) and checked the other information available here before approaching our vet. Once, when I did call him for something and relayed what I'd learned from the site, he remarked that I must've tapped into one of the better online resources for horse owners. I considered that a compliment, and thought I'd pass it along. Keep up the good support! |

Here is what one member wrote to us yesterday:Posted by Fwilsak on Thursday, September 1, 2005 - 9:34 pm: As a new horse owner, I really value this site for the great information I have found on it. Little did I know it would include info like this! As a member for only one year, it makes me wonder what else I've been missing! Honestly, this thread has been so entertaining I can't wait to read my email to get the latest installment of "information". When Dennis joined in and the coin flipped, I couldn't stop laughing. |

Beside more personal conversations, product reviews, and other sections, there are areas where members can share humor, entertainment, and photos. Here was a comment generated by the discovery by one of our members of the photos area:Posted by Mrose on Saturday, August 20, 2005 - 4:52 pm: Such beautiful pictures! I can't believe I just discovered this section. Guess I'm a little slow! The scenery reminds me a lot of some areas of the Sierra's I used to ride in. Sure do love the high country! Thanks for posting. |

Dr. O is a terrific author and I thoroughly enjoy and benefit from his articles....Can you believe I wasted a whole year and thousands of dollars, treating my horse....Too bad my former vet and farrier didn't read Dr. O's articles!...I intend to repay her by being better educated and to give her the best life she deserves. Horseadvice and folks like you and Dr. O are helping me to do just this! Thanks for your comments and support! Jan |

Posted on Saturday, Jun 11, 2005 - 11:36 am: Our favorite posts are ones like these, they make our day!Posted by: Choney on Friday, June 3, 2005 - 7:48 pm: Dear Fellow Board Members, and Dr. O, About 5 or 6 months ago, I had asked for advice, read many old posts, and perused Dr. O's articles regarding heaves. Had been considering buying a 20 yo mare with frequent attacks, and it would be my first horse. The advice, all rolled up together with the main themes intact, made me realize that with good management, it was highly possible to ease or eradicate bouts of respiratory distress. I am very happy to say that my horse rapidly improved!...Thank you all for your kind and wise advice. It has helped a horse have a better quality of life. Cher |

Posted on Tuesday, May 17, 2005 - 11:38 am: Two very kind posts from this week, one from a relatively new member and the other from a older memeber:Posted by 9193 on Monday, May 16, 2005 - 4:37 pm: I have found this site incredibly helpful since I joined over a year ago. I am back into horses after a 30 year hiatus and I am amazed at the amount of information regarding the mind, body and spirit of horses that exists today. I especially enjoy reading and learning how horsepeople all over the country and in different countries deal with the same concerns and deal with different challenges like weather, lack of vets (you can just about trip over a vet in my neck of the woods) feed, training (ect). I am also touched by the dedication that so many of the members show to their horses. Thank you for enabling a terrific resource and guide. Debra Posted by Sunny66 on Monday, May 16, 2005 - 10:28 am: LOL ... The wealth of knowledge on your website, and of course the generous giving of your time every day to help those of us not willing or able to go to vet school, along with the kindness and knowledge of the members here ...this site IS therapy. Thanks for all you do Dr. O!!! |
