Mrose has been a member for three years now: Posted by: Mrose on Saturday, November 1, 2003: Dr. O- I really appreciate this board, the opportunity to exchange ideas, and your advice. We live in a rural area with only one large animal vet. Inspite of the fact I think he's a very good vet, it's nice to get other ideas/opinions. Thanks. |

Reading through the recent new membership forms it struck us how many folks had joined because they had been former members and now miss us or their veterinarians recommended it. But here was one of our favorite referrral notes: Was a member previously. I was a member 3 years ago -- I've missed this wonderful site and want to join again. edhenry Thanks for the thumbs up Ed. |

And from a new member we received these kudos: Dr. O. I just have to say that this site is the BEST thing I have come across in a long time. In the few short weeks I have been a member, I have learned more about horse care than in the forty plus years that I have lived with them. Reading new materials and new posts is the one thing I make time for every day - no matter how crazy my schedule. The cost of membership is absolutely worth every penny and more. I have been recommending it to everyone I know who has horses. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! Shari RObertson (fondly referred to as "Dr. R" in my professional arena!) |

This was a nice post we received this week: From Swarnick, on July 14, 2003: I just wanted to thank you again for raising my awarness on barn safety. Because of this thread, I really took stock and it wasn't a bit too soon.... Because I had thought it through last week, as a result of your post, I didnt' panic because there was a plan in place. Had this happened before, I would have had everything scattered to heck and back like ususal and who knows what the outcome might have been........all I care about is that my babies are all safe and sound. This is the nicest letter we have received in a while and we thought we would share it with you: Dear Dr. Oglesby, This is simply a note to thank you for your efforts in providing the articles, advice, and discussions offered in the Horseman's Advisor. I don't have the time to read it regularly, but believe me, whenever I have a problem with a horse, I turn directly to your website! Sometimes I find help in the articles, sometimes from the other members who post their questions and suggestions. Often I find a lot of reassurance, as I did today to see what you had to say about epistaxis in horses. (Over the last 2 months, 2 of my horses have had a minor nosebleed. I immediately was worrying that they have EIA or Ehrlichiosis.) I am a veterinarian - formerly a small animal internist, now a researcher. Thank you for providing this wonderful resource. I hope you find a great deal of satisfaction from doing so, because you certainly are improving the lives of many people, not to mention those of their horses. Best regards, Jill Verlander Reed, D.V.M. Associate Scientist Director,Electron Microscopy Core Facility UF College of Medicine
