Discussion on Gaited colt with 1/4 Appaloosa only trots
Author Message

Posted on Saturday, Jul 6, 2002 - 10:40 am:

I purchased a 1/2 Paso, 1/4 TWH, 1/4 Appaloosa when he was 4 months old. He is a year now, and I have only seen him trot in the pasture, I've never seen him gait. He does have an overstep at the dog walk. He's a beautiful colt, very sensible, and has great conformation. I just want to know if there is any hope of him gaiting under saddle. Any thoughts?

Yes under saddle you may find a faster 4 beat gait of some sort but what kind and how strong only time will tell.
