Hi Chris, How did that meeting go? I am just starting dressage, did you like the talk on
Cavalletti? At what point in training do you add work on cavalletti? And what are the benefits? I live in Murrieta,Ca and my husband & I went to the equine Affaire in Feb. were you there? Cynthia

Hi Cynthia,

Small world; I bought my horse from a gal in Murrieta/La Cresta.

The meeting was absolutely fantastic. I suggest you get Ingrid Klimke's book Cavalletti; I have the edition written with her father. It has all the scoop on incorporating cavelletti into your horse's training. My take is that the biggest benefit is to get your horse really articulating their joints and working over their backs; think of step aerobics. And it's fun for both horse and rider.

Equine Affaire never really appealed to me for some reason although many of the folks from our barn go religiously.

Cheers,
Chris

I had the good fortune to spend three days watching Ingrid give talks on Cavalletti with some of the best dressage riders demonstrating her techniques at the USDF national convention in Dec. She is one fabulous rider and is an eloquent speaker. I also got the revised version of the book Cavalletti which she signed. What an awesome treat. I hope you got as much out of her presentations as we all did.

Hi,Corinne how are you doing with the pregnancy?I have been in the lounge and also read a lot of your listings. My husband is a retired Marine Corp pilot, helo and fixed wing, no jet. He went to the gulf war in 90/91 as well as Vietnam. We have 2 boys, grown and out on their own. He flies for FedEx, I am used to being on my own so if I can help let me know. And since you also learned dressage with your arab, I am sure you have a lot of advice for me. Cynthia

Hi Chris, I moved in 1998 from Trabuco Cyn. in O.C. to the Tenaja area. I love to go to the Equine Affaire, I run into people from the old neighborhood and catch up, as well as seeing clinicians I watch on RFDtv. I also like to check out the products and sometimes pick up bargains. I will look for her book Cavalletti, I also saw a book Dressage A to X & I am thinking about getting it.
