Can anyone tell me if there is a word to describe the dressage movement where the horse does flying lead changes on every second stride? Thanks, Janine

Janine they are called Tempe changes and would be single, if they were every stride and so on depending on how many you put it. The more tempe changes the higher the difficulty. Ingrid Klimke's father Dr Reiner (I think I spelled that correctly) once did single tempe changes the length of the entire arena as a victory lap...I sure wish I could have seen that. If you get the USDF book with the tests in available for purchase as USDF.org you can learn pretty much everything there is to know from the tests, to the awards to my favorite...the glossary!

I've seen them identified as tempi changes. Also, I've seen the descriptions one tempis and two tempis. Otherwise I've seen "flying change of leg every "put number here" strides". Chris
