ok paso people, I've solved my ground manner problems(new horse in behavior menu)now I'm working in the saddle. I have some control issues and I want to work at a walk first but I'm not sure if my horse even understands I want her to walk. Is the walking gait supposed to be more animated and faster than a walk on the lead rope? Any info on how to recognize the gaits, or how to put the horse into the correct gait would be great.

Good morning: I have been meaning to respond to your post for a while, but have been immersed in "county fair week" which means nothing else gets done! I am not a paso person, but I am a fellow gaited horse person (TWH). Brenda Imus (the author of Gaits of Gold) has a new website that deals with all gaited horses. I think you would be able to find what you need there (as well as order some of her wonderful videos/books etc on how to recognize the various gaits). Anyway, the website is www.gaitsofgold.com. Let me know if you find what you need there. And enjoy your new gaited horse!!! Shari Robertson
