Hi this is going to sound silly. I have been give a draft to teach to ride under saddle. She has never been under saddle. She has not been worked for over 6 years she was just a brood mare. Years ago she was a work horse for the amish. Today was my first day with her. They never told me she had never had a saddle on before until I saddled her. Thanks I thought. However all went well. She had no idea of anything . After 1/2 hour she worked out that leg pressure meant go forward and she turns etc.I was wondering if anyone knew Amish words for commands to make things easier for her. I like to use word commands as I teach aids to make life less stressful. This is my first experience with a draft. and I love it its like riding a big pony and the trot, wow. Now I know why they cross these horses for dressage. We will be fine without knowing the amish words , but it would help her with her confusion. Anything to make their lifes easier. Anyone know?
Thanks Katrina
