ME!!!

My friend Ellen qualified again for the Nevada Cup, a preliminary event, and I'll be going as her groom like I did last year. Are you going to be there?

Yes, I have two tickets but only for the dressage portion. I'm holding one for a friend who is working in the mortgage title industry so can't really commit just yet. My husband has volunteered to go with me, not quite sure how that would work out.

I think I'm actually in the same seat as 2007, so we can wave across the arena again!

Congrats to Ellen!

I'm not sure how long I'm going to be able to stay. I really want to see the dressage, but the jumping is exciting to watch. I really enjoyed it last year. It is so cool to be able to be "backstage" with all the "big wigs" and watch them practice, etc. I'll probably have to go home for a few days then go back down to watch the dressage. Did you get your tickets on line? Last I looked They were just selling "packages" for the entire thing. I can watch from ringside for free for the jumping, but would like to get seats for the dressage.

Is anyone else going? It would be fun to meet again!

I should give credit where credit is due; Ellen finished first, which is no small accomplishment! And, she is another small town "girl" with home raised horses and a "small town" trainer. Kind of cool!

Sara, I bought my tickets months ago. Ever since I purchased tickets in 2005, I get renewal notices as a subscriber.

If you go to the Chronicle of the Horse forum, I think there are folks selling tickets. I won't know until the last minute if someone is going to use my "extra" ticket.

Sara,

Individual tickets for the World Cup go on sale on Monday. I'll keep you posted regarding the availability of my extra ticket.

Hi Chris. Not yet. Ellen is trying to figure out her schedule still, so I'm waiting on her. I can watch the the jumping from the gate with my pass; I'm not sure about the dressage. I like watching dressage from the stands because you can see it better imo. Is your friend or your hubby going with you, or do you know yet?

Things aren't looking good for my friend going. She was concerned about taking time off work to go with her horse to the vet hospital last week so her hubby and I made that trip. I'm sure the gossip is flying; as the barn turns.

I'm thinking my husband is going to get cold feet as it approaches.

I'll keep you posted. You're at the top of the list for the extra ticket.

O.K. Thanks. Just let me know. Since Ellen is an M.D. I think she'll have a hard time getting more time off than she needs for her competition and I'll probably wind up on my own for the finals.

btw - I think the name of the "saddle soap" is "As the Hot Walker Turns!"
