Hi all,

I know the answer depends on the condition of my saddle-I have a Crosby close contact that is too small for myself and my horse-17 1/2 seat and not wide enough for an Arab. I don't know how old it is as it was left at a friends barn and the owner never returned for it after several years so she gave it to me-go fiquire! Any one got some price ranges-The tree is an great shape and so is all the stitching. the panels are a tad worn but every thing else looks fine.

Kim--If you get catalogs from Millers, State Line or Dovers, you can see what these saddles sell for now when new--then start subtracting.

I've taken a bath on every saddle I've sold & so has everyone else I know. But since it was given to you, at least you're not going to lose out-of- pocket money.

This saddle thing is making me crazy! In the above post I ment flaps are slightly wore not panels! I think i may just keep this for my pony and see if a riser makes it fit better. Then I'll buy something to do dressage in for my Arab. Big sigh!

These people take saddles on consignment. You send yours to them and what you hope to net for it and they clean it up, price it to get a 20% mark up and sell it for you.

I've heard good things about them. I was considering selling my County Warmblood through them.

You can write for more info - their web site is

Tell them about your saddle in detail and ask if 1) it is one they'd take on consignment and 2) either how they think it should be priced or if you could net $x.

Typically, used saddles from a private party are 50-80% of new prices, depending on condition, how new, etc.

Good luck.
