Hi, I was wondering if you should always put e-z boots on your horse if the terrain is pretty rocky and rough? Do you put them on all 4 hoofs? Will e-z boots make the horses footing slippery? Right now I just have the farrier put pads on the front hooves and just regular shoes on the back. On some of the trails, they wind up being really rocky. I know that you are to put e-z boots on if your horse loses a shoe. Any information will be appreciated.
Thank You -Cindy

Hello Cindy,
When to use your easy boots on your horses bare feet will depend on the terrain and condition of your horses feet. I do not know anyone who uses easy boots placed over regular shoes and do not believe this to be neccassary. But then again, maybe there are some conditions I just have not experienced. I finds easy boots are not slippery over rocks.

Some of the areas I ride are very rocky and we always have just regular shoes and have not had a problem. Seldom will someone come up with a stone bruise but that can happen anywhere. So have no fear, rocky trails will probably not harm your horse.
