Unfortunately, I have had the choice of taking my horse to a stable with a walker out of my hands as fear of Foot & Mouth disease has led most stables in Luxembourg not to except any new animals in their barns. However, my horse was thoroughly vetted last week with no sign of trouble and after a couple of days of lunging, I am now riding him GENTLY and slowly and he is behaving very well and his legs remain cold and hard and his gaits even. I stay on the track and do a little bit of trotting down the long sides. When I first lunged him he did some acrobatics but with no effect to the leg so I am hoping that it will hold if I am careful. I can only ride in the arena due to weather and Foot&Mouth (we've been asked not to ride out while it is a threat). Can anyone suggest a programme of work to get him carefully back into shape? It isn't that I am in a hurry, I just don't know what will be too much and too little although I am all in favour of erring on the side of caution.

What type injury, April, what exactly are you doing now, and what are your goals?
