My next door neighbor's horse kept getting out and coming over to my farm to visit my horses. The last time she was here she had what appeared to be a very bad case of colic. The horse could not even stand and they would not give me permission to treat the horse (which was on my property) by my vet. I have not seen the horse since they came and took it home 4 days ago. I feel that it died. Is there not a law that says if a sick or injured animal is on your property you have the right to treat it, if you are willing to pay the medical expenses? Also, can this be considered cruelty on their part? Please help.

Linda - do you know of any hooved animal rescue operations in your area? If not you may try searching under equine rescue on the internet. It sounds like your neighbors are neglecting their animal. Calling an Animal Protection Officer should give you the answers you are looking for.
