I am looking for an example of a training contract. Not for a horse, but for a person. I have the "Legal forms" book, but it only handles the training of a horse, not the rider. I want to cover things such as what is done if the rider is late to a lesson, what the rider expects from the lesson, what the trainer is responsible for during shows, etc. Does anyone have an example of this?
Thanks,
Alicia

Most of my clients who wind up in court are people who tried to do their own agreement, or used an "example" that they found. This happens in sale contracts, boarding contracts, and even training/instruction agreements. Your simple request can easily wind up costing you $10,000 to go to court.

If your horse needs to be shod, you contact a farrier. If your horse is suffering from colic, you call a vet. Please, if you need a legal document, protect yourself and call an attorney! An attorney will charge a reasonable flat fee to draft a document that you can use for all your students. If you perform a cost/risk analysis you should see that you are playing a dangerous game by drafting it yourself.

Good luck!

This isn't for me. I am going to start taking lessons from a friend, and don't want any hard feelings between us, so I wanted to get examples of things people agreed to.
