My friend is moving. Her soon to be "ex" left his horse behind months ago. She has advised him that if the horse is not moved by a dead line she will sell the horse, deduct for 6 months of care and send the balance to him. He does not agree.
Is that legal?

Much depends on the details and the local laws Rose so your question really needs answering by a local lawyer but all states have a abandoment law.
