We have a commuity riding ring and we are try to
make guidelines from it,,
1.none of the children take lessons here
2. as of right now all the kids jump at there
free will
3.that is my question

Hi Ricci,

I agree that guidelines are a good idea. Here are some that I would want off the top of my head:

1. riders are responsible for putting away anything they use (e.g., jumps, poles, cones, etc.,).
2. Passing is always done left hand to left hand or right to right. This prevents collisions or being run into the rail.
3. if a horse tends to bolt, bite, kick etc., other riders in the ring should be warned.
4. there is a group/committee to deal with complaints.
5. All riders who use the ring sign an agreement that they are aware of the rules and will abide by them.
