Dr.O, My Vet mentioned yesterday that there is a new WNV vaccine which only requires yearly vaccinations. Out here in California, we have been giving Fort Dodge every 6 months. Are you familiar with the new vaccine? Is there information posted somewhere that I could read up on it? Thanks!

Welcome Cheryl,
Scientific evidence supports the once yearly use of the Fort Dodge killed WNV vaccine. We do have information on the Merial RECOMBITEK West Nile Virus vaccine at Diseases of Horses » Nervous System » Incoordination, Weakness, Spasticity, Tremors » West Nile Virus and while it does hold some advantages it is not clear one of them is significantly longer efficacy...yet.
