Hello! I need advice and there is no better place than here to get it! I'm purchasing a new horse that is located in NC (about 5 1/2 hours from our home in MD). I'm not experienced at trailering, however I do know several people from our barn that own trailers and would be willing to help transport the horse here. However, I'm wondering if it would be better to hire a reputable professional horse transport service instead?? Other than being DOT licensed and insured (shouldn't I have insurance also?) what else should I look for? I've received quotes anywhere from .50 to 2.00 per loaded mile! Thanks for any help!

We have bought many horses from out-of-state and have always relied on commercial carriers. You have our preferred horse transportation carrier close to you. He is KC at https://www.mindspring.com/~forrestmeadows/
Kaye, KC's wife recently transported a yearling filly from Langley, BC, Canada to Aurora, Colorado. We highly recommend Texas Connection Horse Transport.
