The farrier missed the last scheduled appointment at our barn. My friend's horse is shod all the way around. She pulled the front shoes, but wasn't able to clip the nails and pull the back shoes. Is there a problem with riding the horse with back shoes only? I couldn't think of any, but thought I'd ask.

It is not the presence of the back shoes that concern me, it is going without front shoes that is a concern: is the horse able to do the work you are going to ask it without shoes on and not end up bruied or worse?

Yes, that is a concern we'd thought of. If he's gimpy or too ouchy, then she won't ride him.
