Hate to be a dummy here but I need some help. Got my old macs in yesterday and I'm trying to determine if they fit before I use them so I can exchange if I need to. The fit is tight and I can't see into the boot to determine if the hoof is sitting on the leather at the back. How did you determine if the heels are actually on the sole of the boot and only the bulbs on the leather? I have a size 4 and 5 and I can't make a determination on either of these on the same horse. I know this is a silly question! Also, with the barefoot trim, the frog will be on the 3 brads at the back of the boot on the bottom. Does this not sore and irritate the horse?
Thanks,
Leslie

If you measured properly with a fresh trim (as described on OLD MAC website)the boots should fit. Also without the boots the frog is going to be placed on rocks, stickers etc whatever ground is, doubt brads are worse than normal ground. If you did not measure before ordering, get fresh trim measure and then go to website to determine which size recommended for that measurement, and send back one or both pair if wrong size.

I did measure (hopefully correctly). The 5 was for a different horse. I just put it on the mare for a comparision. Just wanted to make sure before I started using the boots. I'll try the 5's on the other horse today.
