Discussion on Benefits of Calf Manna?

Hi, In reading the nutrition posts, I noticed a lot of people feed calf manna as a supplement. I've seen it used before but never found out what the benefits are. What is the purpose and what does it contain? I am interested in finding out more about it. Thanks all. Holly

The purpose and benefits are the same as with feeding other supplements. As you can see from above it is used to boost the protein in the diet so this would be to supplement poor quality hay for maintenance, or added to good quality food stuffs for pregnant, lactating, or growing horses. DrO
