I don't have a tip or suggestion, but I do have a question for everyone. It is that time of year when coats are getting longer & static is building up as I groom & brush. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to cut down or eliminate this irritating problem ? Thanks, Sue

This has been a frequently discussued topic in the past, run a search on the discussions for static electricity, there have beed good suggestions in the past.

I did the search as suggested. Sounds like "static guard" is the way to go. Would it be ok to spray directly on the horses or just the brushes? I don't use blankets on my horses, they just get nicely fuzzy/furry. Thanks, Sue

Use a fabric softener sheet. Rub it all over them. Works great and you don't have to spray them. It also repels bugs, though that isn't a problem in the winter, I use them sometimes in the summer as well.

Alicia,
Thanks for the tip. I will probably have better luck with the dryer sheets. I have one who is not impressed with sprays at all.I can put a few in a ziplock & put them in with my grooming stuff. I'll let you know how it works. Sue
