About 3 years ago, I used to worm my horse every 2 months - usually ivermectin - but did rotate some of the other wormers. I followed my own schedule - I was not on a schedule with other horses. I then moved to a barn where the barn owner wanted to have specific worming days and would specify the type of wormer to use. The timing has been every 3-4 months (not every 2 months). In looking at wormer information and schedules, I don't think I have every wormed him with the correct ingredient for tapeworms. I want to give him some Equimax. The next worming at the barn is in the next few weeks (not a tapeworm ingredient). Can I safely give him the Equimax now and give him the other in a few weeks? How important is it that we all horses are wormed on the same day? At another barn, there were so many horses, you were on your own. I've never had a fecal done - I am thinking about asking the vet to do one.

Thank you.

Why not buy the Equimax and give it to the barn owner to use on your horse when they are all dewormed? Otherwise yes it would be safe to use two deworming products this close together.

I think a regular program with all the horses dewormed together has considerable merit. The article on Overview explains the best way to do your fecal so you get usable information.
