How would I determine what damage, if any, is the result of a horse pulling back while tied and wearing a rope halter? My gelding had a horrible "pulling-back" experience where he landed on his side with his neck twisted until someone ran over and cut the rope. Then, a well-meaning witness, tried to grab what was left of the rope before he gained composure and he flipped over onto his back while saddled. I've had the chiro do work on him and it's been a while now since this occured. He does not like his poll touched however. How would I know if there is permanent damage and what the consequences are?
