Hi my horse lost her front shoe and the farrier can't put it on for a week and a half. I am keeping her in her stall. Do I need to tape up her hoof until the shoe is put back on to keep it from chipping? She is standing on soft sand in her paddock. If I need to tape it up, is there a correct procedure to doing this?

Cindy, how long was the shoe on before it came off?
