There is a recall on PREVENILE. Apparently it has been contaminated in some way and is causing severe allergic reactions some of which have been fatal.

Here is the information sent to us this morning from Intervet Inc:

URGENT: RECALL NOTICE
PreveNile
West Nile Virus Vaccine


Dear Doctor:

This is to inform you that Intervet Inc. is conducting a voluntary recall of all serials, and all dose presentations of PreveNile® West Nile Virus Vaccine. This recall is being conducted because Intervet has identified an increased incidence of adverse events related to currently marketed serials. We have notified the United States Department of Agriculture, Center for Veterinary Biologics of this recall action.

The recall is for all serials of product. The serial numbers are:

One-Dose / Five-Dose

91669001 / 91669003
91669002 / 91669004
91669005 / 91669008
91669006 / 91669009
91669007 / 91669010
91669012 / 91669011
91669013 / 91660003
91669014 / 91660004
91669015
91669016
91660001
91660002

Please check your inventory immediately to identify whether or not you have any PreveNile vaccine. If you have any PreveNile product, please contact your distributor representative to arrange the return and credit for any returned product.
